Job Description

College of Health Sciences' college wide human resources support contact for activities related to student workers and non-benefit eligible employee recruiting, hiring, records, payroll, etc. and processing of human resources related requests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • College-wide administrative support including:
    • Processing of all human resources paperwork for all hires, leaves of absence, and terminations for:
      • Graduate assistantships: including tuition waivers, employment letters, preboarding, additional requirements, PeopleSoft ePAF's; answer students' questions regarding their position
      • Undergraduate student employees: including employment letters, preboarding, PeopleSoft ePAF's; answer students' questions regarding their position
      • Non-benefit eligible staff and adjunct faculty: including criminal background checks (CBC), employment letters, preboarding, PeopleSoft ePAF's; answer employee's questions regarding their position
      • Courtesy appointments: including follow up on proper access being given for the needs of the courtesy appointment
    • Managing Work Study student employment by creating job postings, connecting students with financial aid awards with departments needing student assistance, maintaining spreadsheets with allocations and closely monitoring fund usage per semester
    • Creating and posting positions in the campus HireMizzouTigers hire system - Handshake and monitor applications to send to hiring supervisors for review
    • Preparing, coordinating, and maintaining all Additional Pay/Extra Compensation requests
    • Maintaining hiring spreadsheets for graduate assistantships, adjuncts, undergraduate, part-time temp and additional pay/extra compensation
    • Reporting each semester to College of Health Sciences department chairs and supervisors their current employees and process all NBE employee updates
    • Communicating completed hiring information to new employees, supervisors, support staff and fiscal contacts
    • Following up on various HR reports including 20-week report and work authorization report
    • Updating NBE Human Resources Specialist Desk Manual and Graduate Assistantship Manual and template letters/emails
    • Utilizing PeopleSoft Query and other internal and external resources for research requests and regular requests (birthdays, milestone anniversary dates); other special projects as needed (building/editing spreadsheets, forms, letters, etc.)
    • Multiple times per day, check the queue(s) for areas for which you are assigned, and complete work in accordance with our office service deadlines. Cross-train with other staff members to improve all areas of job knowledge
    • General office support
Shift

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a higher education or university setting; experience with PeopleSoft HR modules; experience with highly sensitive and confidential information; experience with work queues in team-based environment; problem-solving skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated Hiring Range: $18.87 - $26.87 per hour
Grade: GGS 8
