Job Summary

UCSF is seeking a skilled Salesforce Developer to join our CRM Platform team in building and maintaining a modern, patient-centered CRM solution that enhances patient access and streamlines call center operations. This role will focus on declarative configuration, system administration, and ongoing platform optimization using Salesforce tools such as Flow, Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, and related applications.
As part of our patient access transformation efforts, you will play a hands-on role in designing and building intuitive, scalable Salesforce solutions that simplify user workflows, improve patient engagement, and deliver actionable insights to frontline teams. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Salesforce configuration and administration, with the ability to translate business needs into effective, user-friendly system solutions.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $102,100 - $187,600 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

Health IT is responsible for all aspects of the clinical and business software applications of UCSF Health hospitals, practices, affiliates, and community partners. This includes the Electronic Health Record (APeX), which supports the clinical, revenue cycle, and clinical operational functions of the health system and its affiliates, and approximately 95 other software applications involved in patient care and operations.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Salesforce Developer or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in flows, Visualforce markup, or HTML, LWC for development and customization of applications in the Salesforce platform.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and package management within the Salesforce environment
  • In-depth understanding and application of Salesforce technical skills, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC), flows, custom and standard objects, application development, and platform configurations
  • Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
  • Detail-oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
  • Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.

  • Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II

License/Certification
