Position Title: R&D Technician II Work Location: Plymouth, MN 55442 Assignment Duration: 12 Months Summary: Analyzes verbal or statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professional workers in scientific or engineering areas, focusing on medical device testing. Background & Context: Our organization seeks a hands-on technician to support research and development of medical devices through mechanical, electrical, and visual testing. Responsibilities: Perform mechanical, electrical, conditioning, length, OD, and visual tests on medical devices. Follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Maintain accurate documentation using good documentation practices. Communicate clearly with engineers regarding test results and observations. Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate safety equipment. Utilize lab tools and equipment including calipers, MTS, multimeters, digital thermometers, force gauges, Cognex, LabView, and hand tools. Maintain a work balance of approximately 85% lab time and 15% desk time. Qualification Experience: 1-4 years of relevant experience or post-high school education. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently. Familiarity with medical device testing or product assembly preferred. Experience in R&D or testing environments is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Document drafting experience is beneficial.
