This role is initially onsite but will be hybrid after the training period. The company prefers a candidate with manufacturing and cost accounting experience along with a BS in Accounting or Finance.

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its Finance Department, ideally with a background in manufacturing or related industries. This role is critical for providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making within a family-owned businessheadquarteredin Norfolk, VA.

Finance Department Leadership:The Controller will manage all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger accuracy, while overseeing a finance team of three staff members.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:Responsibilities include preparing operating and capital budgets, monthly and annual financial statements, specialized reports, and ongoing business analysis with key performance indicators (KPIs). The Controller will also coordinate with externalaccountantsfor annual financial statement reviews and audits.

Accounting Policies and Controls:The role involves implementing consistent accounting policies, enforcing internal controls to protect company assets, maintaining fixed asset schedules, managing treasury functions, and coordinating inventorycontrols.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
