Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of our operations team, the Electrician will provide support to keep our equipment, processing plants, and site facilities operating. This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to build a career in an exciting industry. We provide education, training, safety instruction, and opportunities to grow your skills while working alongside experienced team members.

Home base for this position will be at the Fredericktown Plant, with occasional travel to the St Louisville plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, motors, and equipment.
  • Learn how to troubleshoot and repair controls, drives, and electrical components for conveyors, crushers, pumps, and other mining machinery.
  • Read and follow diagrams, schematics, and instructions to complete jobs safely and correctly.
  • Help with regular equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Use tools and testing equipment under the guidance of experienced electricians.
  • Work closely with fellow team members to ensure operations run smoothly.
  • Follow all mine safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and electrical safety rules.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Desire to develop electrical knowledge and skills and working in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to use hand tools and follow safety instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a physically active role.
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge on use of a multimeter and other basic electrical tools.
  • Safety 24/7 attitude and practice.
  • Skilled in using basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to understand basic math and read a tape measure accurately.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality work.
  • Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to inspect equipment and identify defects and safety concerns.
  • Willingness to learn troubleshooting best practices for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Comfortable working at elevated heights and changing conditions with proper PPE and safety equipment.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - PREFERRED:

  • Experience with industrial maintenance, repairs, and lighting systems.
  • Working knowledge of the use of computers for reporting, scheduling, and other work tasks.
  • Knowledge and ability to learn electrical safety procedures.
  • Arc Flash Certification.
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification.
  • Valid electrician license or certification as required by local/state regulations.
  • Experience and task trained in the operation of a man lift or bucket truck.
  • Conduit installation and maintenance experience.
  • Experience with work orders, procurement, and inventory management.
  • Workday application experience.
  • Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and MSHA regulations.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Extended work hours in difficult environments, including dust, noise, vibration, weather, and varying temperatures.
  • Travel is required, including some extended stays and varying locations.
