The Opportunity We are seeking a Legal Technology Data Solutions Coordinator to join the Firm. This individual will be responsible for supporting the Legal Technology team in researching, identifying, testing, and implementing technology solutions that support and improve litigation workflows. - Responsible for providing solutions including but not limited to document review platforms, transcripts and case management software, data forensics tools, contract analysis software, text editors, scripting and file transfer programs.
- Works with Legal Technology (LT) data and application development teams as appropriate, to develop custom solutions for internal departments.
- Develops low or no-code solutions to automate data processes.
- Works with LT data team in handling complex projects entailing data analysis, scripting and data manipulation of structured and unstructured data.
- Works with Legal Technology, Records and IT teams as needed.
- Ensures proper integration of technical solutions to case team workflows.
- Ensures users are trained to use the applications and tools effectively, developing training materials as needed.
- Engages on project workflow issues reported by project and internal technical teams.
- Proactively identifies and manages risks and issues that arise, promptly alerts project managers, matter teams and technical teams to variances, provides options for their mitigation or resolution and takes or coordinates the appropriate responsive actions.
- Ensures best practices in data management are followed by LT technical and project teams.
- Organizes meetings and sends communications to ensure that teams are properly informed about changes and developments in project procedures.
- Troubleshoots and resolves data and general technical issues using Litigation Support, e-Discovery & Analytics.
- Participates in meetings with case teams and LT team to understand project requirements, goals and developments that affect document review and production workflows.
- Participates in the development and execution of litigation discovery management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, consistency and accuracy of results.
- Consults on conceptual analytics, active learning and general structured analytics workflows and best practices.
- Works with teams on implementing document review strategies by leveraging analytics solutions, such as concept analysis and active learning, email threading, near- duplicate, etc.
- Performs database administration tasks such as managing database permissions, user roles, designing fields, coding layouts, views.
- Executes database tasks such as database creation, data imports, exports/productions and processing as assigned.
- Assists case teams in optimizing searches.
- Works with case teams in crafting and refining AI prompts to ensure their effectiveness.
- Assists case teams in locating and identifying files from forensic data collections and electronic productions.
- Evaluates, researches, and develops workflows for handling non-standard production and file formats.
- Works with LT Technical Coordinators in the implementation and integration of third party software tools.
- Performs file manipulation, data parsing, and text extraction tasks as assigned.
- Utilizes AI tools to perform data extractions.
- Participates in testing and initial adoption of AI solutions to address litigation and data workflow challenges.
- Assists with testing emerging eDiscovery tools to maximize the effectiveness of services offered by Department and Firm Information Governance & Data Management.
- Manages data usage on hosted solutions, and coordinates with internal teams on archiving of inactive projects.
- Works with internal teams to ensure electronic records, documents, databases and working files are compliant with client's and Firm's data retention policies.
- Ensures network data and work product file folders, shared file sites and other data storage locations are compliant with Firm guidelines and policy.
- Prepares and manages internal e-mail collection and preservation projects.
- Leverages built-in capabilities in existing document review software to aid in email preservation projects.
- Identifies and exports electronic documents and emails from Firm-hosted applications in preparation for review and transfer.
- Manages ingoing and outgoing electronic file transfers, ensuring file integrity and security.
- Utilizes scripts to programmatically move and reorganize large volumes of data.
- Handles data imports, migrations and relocation of data within the firm's approved authorized storage environments.
- Resolves data migration and quality issues.
- Advises on appropriate storage locations for client and Firm data.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
- Manages Firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of document review, transcript, and case chronology applications
- Knowledge and experience using ESI data processing platforms (e.g., Relativity, eCapture, Nuix, Clearwell, LAW, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of data forensics and data collection reporting tools
- Familiarity with ESI protocols
- Demonstrates experience in the EDRM lifecycle, including document collection, processing, review, and production
- Demonstrates experience with citizen development projects
- Proficient in database administration tasks such as field creation, administering user roles and permissions, designing coding layouts, running complex queries
- Familiarity with database analytics applications such as TAR, email threading, textual near duplicate identification
- Proficient with both traditional SQL, keyword and concept-based search tools and technologies
- Knowledge of file transfer methods and techniques
- Understanding of records retention practices and law firm data workflows
- Proficiency in scripting language (Python or Java)
- Strong data manipulation skills using text editors, Ready Suite and scripting language
- Knowledge of regular expressions in data manipulation and programming.
- Experience in prompt engineering and legal AI tools such as Harvey, aiR, CoCounsel
- Proficient with the Document Management Systems
- Ability to describe complex technical concepts and ideas in non-technical terms
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and learn customized proprietary software
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates close attention to detail and effective problem solver

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a field such as Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or Math
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience working with litigation database platforms
