Civil Field Engineer Planning

Day & Zimmermann is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Field Engineer to provide technical support for civil and structural construction activities, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications for capital and maintenance projects within a fossil and gas power plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret civil and structural drawings and specifications, providing field support as needed.
• Perform drawing redlines and verify as-built conditions.
• Assist with construction sequencing and coordination of civil and structural work.
• Monitor quality of civil and structural installations.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to resolve design and field issues.
• Civil and structural field work package development
• Preparing field requisition requests for materials or services
• Documenting and coordinating responses to Field Change Requests, Requests for Information and Nonconformance Reports
• Ensure collection of technical data from subcontractors and vendors for project documentation records
• Manage quantities and perform quantity takeoffs as required
• Coordinate and review construction submittals for compliance to project documents
• Provides field engineering support and assistance to subcontractor technical representatives, supporting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, and quality, and assures results meet design requirements
• Performs Civil/Structural Field Technical activities including inspections and planning to support the installation of formwork, shoring, rebar, concrete including thermal controls, structural steel, earthwork, and performs rigging support and planning activities for material and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in civil/structural field engineering.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with construction sequencing and site coordination.
• FE or PE preferred.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $79,000 - $193,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
