Job Summary: As the Manager of Clinical Informatics- Inpatient Nursing at Endeavor Health, you will be responsible for leading the development, testing, configuration, optimization, and implementation services of solutions specific to areas of responsibility. In this role, you will be responsible for the full life cycle management, from strategic planning, development, and maintenance to the launch of solutions and platforms. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities with the goal of reducing manual efforts, contributing to growth of the organization, promotion of patient and user experience and creating innovative solutions with operations. You will be developing and fostering strong working relationships with key stakeholders to align technological solutions to the goals of the system. Additionally, you will be responsible for promoting the consistent use of available tools, techniques, workflows, platforms and other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities:
- Leading informatics projects related to inpatient care, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with inpatient clinical and administrative leaders to identify opportunities for improvement through technology and data.
- Managing a team of informatics specialists focused on inpatient care.
- Developing and delivering training programs for inpatient staff on the use of health information technology.
What you will do:
- Inpatient Workflow Optimization:Streamlining processes related to medication administration, order entry, clinical documentation, and patient flow within the hospital setting.
- Patient Safety and Quality Improvement:Utilizing data analytics to identify and prevent adverse events, improve patient outcomes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Integration of Complex Systems:Managing the flow of information between various hospital systems, such as the EMR (e.g., Epic Inpatient), laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy systems.
- Clinical Decision Support Systems:Implementing and optimizing clinical decision support tools to assist clinicians in making informed decisions at the point of care.
- Data-Driven Performance Monitoring:Developing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inpatient care, providing insights to improve efficiency, quality, and patient safety.
- Solution Portfolio Management: Drives end-to-end activities for the assigned solutions portfolio and develops and leads teams to achieve high-performance outcomes, including planning, technical setup, testing, training, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Governance Participation: Establishes relationships with domain leaders to understand strategic business needs and user needs, leading or participating in governance committees to collaborate with key stakeholders on priorities and workload management.
- Partnership Development: Develops strong partnerships with other fellow leaders to identify synergies and opportunities for improvement.
- Vendor Collaboration: Collaborates with vendors to ensure systems and solutions are achieving or exceeding the needs of Endeavor Health.
- Budget and Policy Management: Contributes to the development of capital and operating budgets, policy formulation and adherence, talent acquisition and management, governance activities, and other duties as assigned.
- Technology Systems Advocate and Awareness: Remains updated on the latest market technologies and promoting their implementation. Engages with industry organizations such as HIMSS, CHIME, Epic UGM/XGM, and VMWare World.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate and actively participate across functional components led by other leaders, ensuring overlaps and touch points are seamless, effective, efficient and achieve measurable outcomes.
- Strategic Support Liaison: Serves as bridge between clinical leaders, system operations, IT and Health Informatics leadership to develop strategy, support, optimization and other changes in health IT portfolio.
- Clinical Systems Optimization and EMR Advocacy: Drives the optimal use of clinical information systems, data, and technology to enhance patient care, safety and quality outcomes while championing EMR adoption and optimization throughout the organization.
- Change Management and Process Improvement: Acts as a change agent to improve workflows for clinician, nursing staff and clinical personnel, leading workflow analysis and process initiatives related to continuous improvement.
- Team Support and Performance Management: Supports, mentors and assigns work to Clinical Informatics teams both Nursing and Medical disciplines, managing team performance and contributing significantly to the performance review process.
- Compliance Partnership: Partners with clinical compliance in the survey process for accreditations and designations.
What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Certifications: Epic Certification within experience in Orders, Clin Doc and Ambulatory preferred.
- Experience: Three (3) or more years of experience in managing processes, applications, or systems in a healthcare setting or relevant related industries.
- Two (2) or more years of leadership experience as defined as essential to the role.
- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills essential.
- Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects with efficiency.
