Job Summary
The Assembler is responsible for building, testing, and finishing various sizes of transformers and related sub-assemblies using defined procedures, bills of materials, and specialized equipment. This position involves reworking damaged or defective parts, performing detailed assembly operations, and ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities
Assemble transformer cores, coils, and components following blueprints, customer specifications, and standardized work procedures (NFOI).
Load cores and coils onto the stacking line and apply steel banding straps to secure assemblies.
Operate TIG welder to weld low-voltage (L.V.) leads and crossovers per hookup diagrams.
Perform Turn-to-Turn Ratio (T.T.R.) testing to ensure proper electrical connections and functionality.
Operate equipment such as bake ovens, coil hot press, lead press, and worksaver to complete and transport assemblies.
Identify and scan units based on shipping schedules to generate data for oven loading and sequencing.
Rework and repair damaged or defective components or assemblies as required.
Inspect tools for wear or damage; perform or request maintenance and replacements as needed.
Maintain accurate records and follow established production schedules.
Handle materials manually and operate hoists or powered industrial trucks as needed.
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
Attend work regularly and maintain consistent performance standards.

Ability to follow production schedules and perform close vision work.
Experience operating hand tools, powered tools, hoists, and industrial equipment.
Basic understanding of measuring tools and mechanical assembly processes.
Capable of frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Ability to use hands and upper extremities for repetitive tasks.
Must wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
