Description
Location: Position is on-site at project location in Bremerton, WA. Local candidates in the Bremerton, WA area are encouraged to apply. This project will complete in approximately one year.
ECC is seeking candidates for a Quality Control (QC) Supervisor position for a Dry dock seismic upgrade project. Candidates with a background in waterfront, pier, or dock construction are strongly encouraged to apply. Navy project experience and familiarity with design/build delivery methods are considered valuable assets.
The Quality Control (QC) Supervisor will assist and report to the QC Manager and may perform production-related duties. QC Supervisors are required to attend the Coordination and Mutual Understanding Meeting, QC meetings and be physically present at the construction site to perform the three phases of control and prepare documentation for each definable feature of work in their area of responsibility. In this position you will:
  • Take appropriate action to ensure that work is performed in accordance with the ECC Quality Control Program, the design, the contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards
  • Ensure implementation of the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with Company standards and contract requirements
  • Work to actively promote and support the safety program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis
  • Ensure that required testing is conducted, evaluate test results, ensure results meet specifications, and document results
  • Inspect and document the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents
  • Prepare and/or review of design and material submittals
  • Complete quality related documentation (field reports, logs, and records) in a timely and accurate manner
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to resolve construction problems related to quality
  • Ensure implementation, documentationand close-out of corrective actions
  • Initiate stop work or re-work in coordination with the project team in circumstances with respect to work methodologies nonconformance
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
      Requirements
      • The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
      • An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
      • Skilled in setting up quality control testing equipment
      • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance in government construction
      • Proven knowledge in reading and comprehending construction plans and related technical documents
      • Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors
      • Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
      • Must possess a current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor's certificate or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.
      • Expected 5 years of relevant construction or engineering experience
      • Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location
      • Education:A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Two (2) years or more of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Supervisor, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on construction projects.
      • Knowledge of USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
      • OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
      • Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
      • First Aid and CPR Certification
      • Prior experience with Federal Government DoD construction projects
      • Experience in waterfront, pier, or dock construction is a plus
      • Prior experience with Navy projects is a plus
      • Experience with design/build project delivery is preferred
      ECC targeted salary range for the Bremerton, WA is $80,000 to $105,000 annually. Actual salary offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
