USA TODAY is seeking a seasoned The candidate will direct investigations, enterprise, general commentary and coverage of international tentpoles - particularly the Olympics - and be a front-facing leader for daily operations at the sports flagship of the nation's largest news organization. This is a big job that demands strong leadership, proven project management and a commitment to creating change in an extremely fast-moving environment. The highest level of collaboration in the industry is required, including alongside peer leaders of USA TODAY's new NFL, college, women's sports and breaking news verticals. This job reports to the Executive Editor of Sports of the USA TODAY Network, which includes more than 230 news organizations. The candidate will play a leading role in achieving the company's mission of becoming the most-read sports network in the nation. An ability to coach writers to deliver exceptional journalism at the speed of news is required, from breaking news to long-form storytelling to quick-hit enterprise, hard-hitting commentary and everything in between.
