Child Advocacy Center

Job Description

The Children's Advocacy Services of Greater Saint Louis (CASGSL), a center at the University of Missouri - St. Louis has received a grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative to fund Project CONTACT (Community Operations Network for Treatment After Childhood Trauma). CONTACT's primary aim is for CASGSL to partner with community agencies in order to increase referrals to our Child and Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI) - a brief treatment model designed to prevent Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

This position is grant funded through one-year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a bridge between community referral agencies and active treatment
  • Initiate and maintain contact with families who have been referred for services in order to help explain the therapeutic model, answer questions, and remove barriers to treatment (e.g., arranging transportation, provide referrals for community resources, etc.)
  • Employ appropriate engagement strategies with clients to enhance the likelihood of participation in treatment
  • Assist families with the completion of necessary pre-, post-, and follow-up paperwork including consents/assents, psychometric measures, and other federally required forms
  • Complete and maintaining documentation in a timely and accurate manner according to Federal, State, and Center guidelines
  • Create and update community resource lists
  • Attend and actively participate in all team meetings
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Monday - Friday 8-5

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $20.25
Grade: GGS- 008
