The Organizational Development Leader is responsible for planning, creation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of professional and leadership development opportunities. This role is responsible for developing, tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) related to professional development initiatives, ensuring alignment with the College's strategic goals and objectives. This position works with the Director of Human Resources & College Professional Development to ensure the successful execution of professional development programs for all employees.


This is a hybrid eligible position that allows for 1-2 days working form home after the training period.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.

2. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.

3. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.

4. Guide and Evolve the Professional Development Process - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
  • Coordinate College Professional Development procedures and recommend policy change
  • Coordinate learning opportunities and conduct staff development training when appropriate
  • Provide oversight and guidance to employees in developing long-term professional growth plans and working with supervisors to support departmental and unit-wide development goals
  • Build and maintain professional development calendar, registration platforms, feedback surveys
  • Prepare training materials as needed
  • Provide diverse learning strategies for employees
  • Conduct needs assessment for development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain KPI's related to all development
5. Implement Leadership Training Initiatives - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
  • Design, Coordinate and facilitate Leadership Forum meetings.
  • Plan and implement New Leader Development Cohorts and Leadership Excellence Academy based on a structured development plan and curriculum aligned with the College's mission, vision, values, beliefs, leadership beliefs, and culture statement.
  • Identify and empower internal leaders who exemplify the College's mission, vision, values, leadership principles, and culture to facilitate leadership development opportunities. Support a "grow-your-own" model, while incorporating external resources when appropriate
  • Facilitate and coordinate Western READS program and develop other opportunities for establishing learning communities within the college
  • Consistently engage with the College President on leadership development progress, key metrics, and emerging opportunities.
6. Human Resources Liaison Work - Supporting Action/Task May Include:
  • Serve on internal and external committees to support professional development and equity initiatives
  • Coordinate required annual trainings
  • Review, track, and analyze both qualitative and quantitative employee data to develop KPIs and insights illustrating the effectiveness, engagement, and accomplishments of activities and offerings
  • Provide informed input to policy, process improvements, and strategic initiatives within the Human Resources and College Professional Development departments

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field with 3 years related occupational experience OR
  • Education in related field combined with related occupational experience totaling 7 years OR
  • Related occupational/leadership experience totaling 7 years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in organizational development, talent management, change management, or related areas.

This position reports to: Director or Human Resources & College Professional Development

Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $65,143 - $86,784

This position would include competitive salary, along with a wide variety of benefits available to full-time Western Technical College Employees.
