Overview

The Project Safety Manager for the Purple Line Project is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving health and safety programs across the project in compliance with federal, state, local, and company standards. This individual will work closely with field staff, subcontractors, and management to promote a strong safety culture and ensure a safe work environment throughout the light rail construction corridor. Your role involves providing technical expertise, conducting safety orientations and reviewing safety procedures. What you will be doing
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in construction or safety required.
- 10+ years' experience managing construction or safety teams required.
- Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 regulations and local/state safety codes.
- Experience with transit agency requirements (WMATA, MTA, or similar) strongly preferred.
- CSP, SMP and/or CHST, or equivalent safety certification preferred.
- Developed leadership skills with consistent and clear expectations messaged to direct reports and project stakeholders.
- Strong, proven skills identifying and mentoring direct report safety professionals.
- Assigning tasks and training to build a strong and well balanced internal team.
- Developed ability to provide training and learning opportunities for construction teams based on expert safety knowledge and standard safety principles.
- Expert and proven skill to identify onsite project safety risks and develop innovative and compliant mitigation strategies within safety program and agency requirement standards.
- Expert knowledge of construction site equipment, methods and processes.
- Expert knowledge of regulatory compliance, industry trends and upcoming agency regulations that might impact Company and project production.
- Strong and proven verbal, written and presentation skills with all levels of the organization.
