About the role We are seeking a Principal Advisor, Leadership Capability to join our team at a pivotal moment in our cultural transformation and safety journey. This is a high-impact role designed to strengthen and sustain leadership capabilities across Kennecott, driving meaningful change from the frontline to senior leadership. As a trusted partner to our leaders and a key member of the business, you will design and deliver development strategies that directly align with our new leadership expectations. You will help create the culture for our leaders to thrive, enabling a strong, inclusive, and high-performing operation. What You'll Be Responsible For
- Designing & Leading Mid-Level Leadership Engagements:
Develop a structured and sustainable rhythm of leadership engagements for our management leadership team (MLT). This includes co-design with business leaders, coordination, program management, and potentially facilitation of sessions tailored to manager level leadership expectations. - Embedding New Leadership Expectations:
Lead efforts to embed and sustain our new leadership expectations across all levels of leadership-Supervisor, Superintendent, Manager, and General Manager-ensuring consistent application and alignment. Ensuring all capability building initiatives, tools, and communications are aligned with these leadership expectations. - Development Strategy Across Leadership Levels:
Build a fit-for-purpose strategy for leadership development across all leadership levels, aligned to our organizational goals and leadership expectations while leveraging and collaborating with the Global Learning Team. The strategy will include experiences and resources from the global team along with any localized efforts for specific capability building identified within the business. - Implementing Global Programs:
Partner with our global Talent team to support implementation of the new global Supervisor and Superintendent programs that have been designed based on the new leadership expectations. While not responsible for program design, you will play a key role in developing the implementation plan, working with preferred vendors, and ensuring these programs are successfully rolled out for the Kennecott business. - Driving Coaching Strategy:
Establish a consistent and scalable leadership coaching framework, including guidelines, tools, onboarding, and evaluation mechanisms to support leader development.
- Assess the current state of 1:1 leadership coaching and align with the global coaching model (GROW).
- Partners with preferred vendors as needed to ensure coaching support is available and effective. This could include vendor consolidation based on the current state.
- Design and implement peer-to-peer coaching programs suited to Kennecott's unique context and culture.

- Bachelors degree in a related field
- Proven ability to design and lead business-wide leadership capability strategies that embed leadership expectations and align with organizational goals
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
- Deep understanding of leadership development and organizational culture
- A collaborative and proactive mindset
- Strong experience in change management and program deployment
- Experience managing vendor relationships
- Experience in coaching leaders; coaching certification is a plus
