Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team at our containerboard paper mill in Toledo, OR. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the mill's engineering team to provide civil and structural support to project engineers with assessments, design, and expertise at this large fully-integrated production operations. Long-term value is created through the application of our Principle Based Management business philosophy.

Our Team

This role is part of the engineering department at the Toledo mill and would be the primarily onsite subject matter expert on structural and civil design and condition assessments. What You Will Do

  • Perform basic structural and civil assessments of existing equipment and facilities
  • Provide design review feedback on projects to be installed at the mill of all sizes
  • Provide basic structural and civil designs and calculations for project managers and maintenance department (i.e. fit for service calculations, floor and structural loading, lifting structures design, motor and pump bases)
  • Construction manage civil and structural work performed at the mill
  • Contract and supervise additional civil and structural engineering support as needed for workload
  • Manage and prioritize portfolio of civil and structural repairs on mill infrastructure (roofs, buildings, roads)
  • Project manage project that are primarily civil or structural scope - develop scope, schedule, and budgets through FEL project phases
  • Contract and supervise additional civil and structural engineering support as needed for workload

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a civil/structural design engineer in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience providing structural and civil engineering designs (i.e. fit for service calculations, floor and structural loading, lifting structures design, motor and pump bases)
  • Experience with AutoCAD

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Five (5) or more years of experience as a civil/structural design engineer
  • Project management and construction management experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing investment proposals for civil/structural scope
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
