The Honors College is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor II to join our collaborative and student-centered Advising Team. This position plays a key role in supporting Honors College students by providing academic guidance, fostering engagement in the Honors curriculum, and encouraging participation in transformative opportunities such as undergraduate research, national scholarships, and global experiences. The Academic Advisor II is integral to advancing the College's goals of enhancing student retention, timely graduation, and holistic student development.

Examples of duties include:

* Provide comprehensive academic advising to a caseload of 500+ Honors College students across all majors and disciplines.
* Maintain a strong working knowledge of all undergraduate degree programs to effectively advise on coursework, majors, minors, academic planning, and post-graduate opportunities.
* Monitor student progress toward completion of Honors College distinctions, including Honors College Laureate and Research Laureate designations.
* Lead and manage Navigate campaigns to promote timely completion of Honors requirements and track academic milestones.
* Evaluate student records and determine Honors and Research Laureate status for graduating seniors.
* Collaborate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to onboard new Honors students during New Student Orientation sessions.
* Partner with faculty and campus units to create engagement opportunities such as Honors book/film clubs and service-learning projects.
* Design and implement a series of advising workshops on key topics including academic policies, financial aid, study abroad, and student support resources.
* Serve as liaison to the Graduate School and develop initiatives that promote dual-degree or accelerated pathways for Honors students.
* Plan and execute advising-centered events within the Honors Living-Learning Community (LLC) at University Commons.
* Develop and update accessible advising resources through digital platforms, including the Honors College website and iCollege (LMS).
* Represent the Honors College at university-wide events such as Scholarship Day, Accepted Student Visits, Honors Induction, and Honors Graduation.

Qualifications :

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and either 1) 6 months experience as "Academic Advisor I" at GSU (University Advisement Center or other GSU advising department) or 2) three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree and one year of related academic advising or student support experience, or a combination of education and experience.

* Strong understanding of undergraduate curriculum, academic policies, and student development theory

* Experience with advising tools such as Navigate, Slate CRM, and Microsoft Excel.

* Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities, engage a diverse student population, and build collaborative partnerships across academic departments.
