Job Summary

The Fleet Supervisor at UFP Transportation plays a pivotal role in leading a team that ensures efficient communication and coordination between planners and drivers. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate data in the Transportation Management System (TMS), developing standard operating procedures, and fostering a positive and communicative work environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leading a team responsible for the collaboration with optimal planners to ensure timely communication of load information to drivers
  • Responsible for creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among employees
  • Collaborating with TMS administrator on system issues or development needs
  • Developing SOPs and outlining accountabilities across Fleet Coordinator team
  • Manage and oversee timely release of plans to drivers, monitoring progress, and updating ETAs
  • Ensuring data accuracy in the TMS as events occur so planners and customer service always have the latest status
  • Ensuring all private fleet issues are being monitored, prioritized and resolved
  • Ensuring upload of required documentation and facilitating change management with drivers as needed
  • Maintaining regular communication with drivers for updates and check-ins
  • Can flow to work and cover any fleet coordinator duties as needed
  • Ability to successfully lead and/or drive change and implementation of new systems or processes

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of business experience

Desired Experience

  • Proficient in fleet management software
  • Proven experience in local fleet management, dispatching, or transportation logistics
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
