Job Description

  • Provides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions
  • Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
  • Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
  • Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Drive continuous quality control improvements through methodical collection and analysis of data.
  • Perform incoming visual/dimensional inspections, in process inspections, and final inspections as required
  • Make decisions on acceptability of materials and products, and disposition non-conforming materials through the part rejection process
  • Investigate product quality problems, and recommend changes or improvements, to eliminate root causes and drive measurable improvements
  • Actively lead and/or participate in vendor evaluation, source inspection, and kaizen teams as needed
  • Read and follow blueprints and schematics to assemble equipment
  • Utilize basic hand tools to complete assembly of equipment


  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor


Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • Ability to utilize mechanical and electrical inspections equipment such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, multimeter, profilometers, etc.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines is a plus
  • Specialized quality training or certifications required (ASQ Quality inspector/technician)
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred


  • Associate degree required


  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Ability to travel and work across shifts
  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools safely and efficiently to complete assembly of equipment
  • Ability to utilize SAP to view work orders, parts list, and to close completed orders
  • Ability to pull blueprints for the equipment and parts


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service


  • Work with minimal direct supervision and complete task in a timely manner
  • Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability to correct issues when they arise


Ability to complete CAPA's and document issues

Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to perform job functions safely, and following ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards


Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
