We are seeking a highly skilled Microsoft System Center Engineering Specialist to design, implement, and support enterprise systems management solutions using the Microsoft System Center suite, including SCCM/MECM, SCOM, SCORCH, and other related tools. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft infrastructure technologies and a strong background in systems automation, monitoring, and configuration management in large-scale environments.

This role is key to ensuring consistent, secure, and efficient operations across end-user devices, servers, and cloud-integrated workloads.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft System Center components, including:
    • SCCM/MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) for software deployment, patching, and imaging

    • SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) for monitoring of servers, applications, and infrastructure

    • SCORCH (Orchestrator) for automating workflows and routine IT tasks

    • DPM (Data Protection Manager) for backup and recovery (if applicable)

  • Create and maintain custom monitoring and alerting rules, performance baselines, and dashboards

  • Package and distribute applications and updates to Windows endpoints across the enterprise

  • Design and implement compliance baselines and configuration items for endpoint policy enforcement

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across on-prem and hybrid cloud environments

  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure patch management and endpoint health standards are met

  • Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and support runbooks

  • Monitor System Center environments for performance, capacity, and availability, and apply tuning as needed

  • Support system migrations, upgrades, and integration with other Microsoft technologies such as Azure AD, Intune, and Defender for Endpoint

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)

  • Strong experience with SCOM and performance/availability monitoring of Windows-based systems

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and task orchestration

  • Familiarity with Group Policy, Active Directory, DNS, and Windows Server administration

  • Experience with hybrid environments and integration between on-prem System Center and Microsoft 365/Azure

  • Strong understanding of Windows client and server OS deployment strategies (including task sequences and MDT)

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft certifications such as:

    • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate

  • Experience with Intune, Azure Automation, or Defender for Endpoint

  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management platforms like ServiceNow

  • Experience with enterprise software packaging tools (AdminStudio, PSADT, etc.)
