Summary of the Job:

The Chief Investment Officer (CIO) will oversee FNBO's investment strategy, portfolio management, and investment teams, ensuring alignment with the bank's long-term vision. The CIO will lead investment operations, drive asset allocation decisions, oversee risk management, and provide strategic direction for the investment platforms across wealth management.
This executive leader will drive the wealth management business's long-term growth by delivering superior investment performance, optimizing risk-adjusted returns, and developing innovative client solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements and FNBO's governance framework while fostering a culture of excellence and strategic vision.

About This Role:

Investment Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute FNBO's investment strategy, balancing risk and return objectives to maximize portfolio performance.
  • Oversee asset allocation, investment risk management, and research initiatives to ensure best-in-class investment practices.
  • Lead investment committees, including Asset Allocation, Mutual Fund, Investment Committees and participate in additional committees as appropriate.
  • Provide investment guidance to institutional, high-net-worth, and individual clients.
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends and market cycles to adjust FNBO's investment policies proactively.

Portfolio & Risk Management

  • Ensure robust risk management frameworks are in place, aligning investment strategies with FNBO's financial stability.
  • Collaborate with key partners to identify trends and implement data driven mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and track performance metrics, financial modeling, and reporting to drive informed decision-making.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead a high-performing investment team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and strategic thinking.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top investment talent while ensuring strong succession planning.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and drive a results-oriented investment culture.
  • Serve as a visionary leader and strategic collaborator cultivating cross functional partnerships

Client & Community Engagement

  • Act as FNBO's public-facing investment expert, providing thought leadership through market insights, media commentary, and client presentations.
  • Represent FNBO at industry events, client meetings, and community forums to strengthen relationships and drive business growth.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with institutional investors, financial institutions, and asset managers to enhance FNBO's investment offerings.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all investment policies align with regulatory and fiduciary requirements, including OCC, SEC, and other governing bodies.
  • Lead investment policy development and oversee adherence to FNBO's corporate governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and risk teams to uphold FNBO's integrity and regulatory commitments.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation required.
  • 20+ years of experience in investment management, including 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive expertise in portfolio management, asset allocation, and investment risk.
  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and executive leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing high-impact investment strategies.
