Technical Support Specialist

The Composite Solutions Business is seeking an entry level Technical Support Specialist to work within our Customer Technical Support Organization (CTSO). This position will be part of a focused team of professional engineers/technicians to support the execution of the commercial strategy. This role will work with key stakeholders in S&T, COE, Sourcing, Operations, and Sales to deliver support while ensuring OC products meet or exceed customer needs and expectations. Focus for the role will be the North American geographical region.

Reports to: This position reports to the NA CTSO platform leader responsible for Single End Roving (SER).

• Comply with all plant rules, safety regulations and job hazard analysis (JHA) requirements.
• Support S&T, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and COE teams on development / improvement of SER products
• Support the investigation of quality issues with Operations to ensure corrective actions are sufficient and implemented appropriately.
• Support Sales team in the field by specifying products and supporting qualification of new products
• Define and deliver the portfolio of glass fiber product offerings available for sale in the SER space.
  
  
  
  • Understand customer needs and their fitness-for-use.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the different SER applications that currently consume SER.
  • Stay relevant on new and developing applications within the SER market.
  • Work with manufacturing plants to help develop our products through analytical and statistical means.
  • Lead product trials in the plant to support product improvement or to meet customer FFU's
  
  
  
  
• Develops strong understanding of customer Management of Change systems to facilitate efficient product qualification processes.
• Support cross functional teams to optimize product technology offerings for SER products.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing plants as needed.
• Product testing as required - Standard physical / mechanical properties.
• Plan / Conduct / Ship product trials as needed.
• Provide strong communication between Sales / Operations / Customers through verbal / written communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of experience in production of single end roving.
• Growing knowledge in Composite Systems and Glass Fiber Applications
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently.
• Strong internal and external customer service skills.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Self-motivated to work independently and meet goals and targets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Mini Tab, SAP
• Ability to interact with technical representatives from suppliers and OC customers.

• Stand for extended, prolonged periods.
• Work for extended hours as required.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
