Your Role on Our Team:

The Project Engineer II is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of assigned manufacturing projects. Individuals in this position will provide project management and necessary technical direction to achieve aggressive cost, quality and throughput goals and objectives. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Provides leadership over moderate to highly complex manufacturing projects and new product implementations.
  • Develops detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Responsible for the completion of assigned manufacturing projects; identify potential project risks and issues and implement proactive measures to ensure project milestones and objectives are met.
  • Communicate both verbal and written technical details, ideas, project updates and concepts to engineers and non-engineers in multiple locations.
  • Facilitates project meetings: schedule team meetings, develop agendas, and document project meeting minutes and actions.
  • Drives design of project to meet market driven design guides and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate in a team environment and challenge the status quo to drive optimal solutions for the business.
  • Evaluates project performance and post project lessons learned to recommend changes to existing standards and procedures.

Manufacturing Process Development:

  • Accountable for manufacturing elements of project execution including integration of complicated components and assemblies, materials, packaging, and safety, regulatory and standards compliance.
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and selects from process alternatives to best meet specification objectives and implement designs into mass production.
  • Provides direction, guidance, and engineering expertise to team members.
  • Reviews work of design engineers, process engineers and other project team members.
  • Strong analytical skills, knowledge, and experience in process evaluation tools: Design of Experiments (DOE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), PFMEA, DFMEA, statistical data analysis, risk analysis, flow layout and other related engineering tools.
  • Develops innovative solutions: implement sustainable, robust, and reliable complex manufacturing processes.
  • Conducts pre-project investigations, including equipment vendor selection and capital rationalization, while directly engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements or address concerns.
  • Identifies and overcomes potential design/manufacturing hurdles, scrutinize designs for weaknesses, and suggest improvements.
  • Performs specific project tasks or activities that require detailed consideration or leadership.
  • Works with Operations, Quality and Suppliers to confirm delivery of conforming product and equipment.
  • Acts as technical resource for manufacturing and maintenance and as a backup for other Engineers.
  • Be hands on in the manufacturing facility with Supervisors, Line Leads, Quality Personnel, additional Engineering staff and Line Employees to accomplish results in a timely basis.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or related
  • Minimum 3 years Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, or related experience required
  • Experience successfully managing low-moderate complexity projects and/or subsystems of larger projects
  • Must have working design or process knowledge of a wide variety of the technologies associated with Milwaukee products
  • Must be able to personally conduct detailed analyses or recognize the need and seek the appropriate expertise to achieve the desired results
  • Advanced computer knowledge and skills in MS Office/Project and Solidworks/AutoCAD/NX

  • The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Prolonged standing of eight or more hours a day
  • Frequent walking
  • Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching
