The purpose of a mining equipment Principle Operator Instructor/Developer is to manage the design and delivery of comprehensive training programs that ensure operators are proficient in the safe and efficient use of ulta-class mining products. This role involves developing curriculum, conducting hands-on training sessions, and assessing operator performance to meet industry standards. Additionally, the instructor/developer stays updated with the latest equipment technologies and regulatory requirements to continuously improve training materials. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance operational safety, productivity, and compliance within the construction industry. Key Job Responsibilities
Design & Develop Curriculum: Oversee the development and evaluation of comprehensive course including developing objectives, competencies, lesson plans, instructor guides, assessments, and training material. Lead Train-the-Trainer programs for dealers and mine site trainers globally. (30%) Deliver Training: Deliver both classroom and hands-on practical instruction on operating various products covering both theory and practical operation. Provide operating techniques to optimize machine efficiency. This ensures correct diagnostic procedures, cost-effective, and timely repair and maintenance of equipment. Teach proper startup, shutdown, safe operating practices, and emergency procedures (30%) Subject Matter Experts (SME) & Product Support: Act as the SME for relevant equipment, supporting internal stakeholders with expert guidance on machine behavior, operator error, and operator inefficiencies. Provide feedback to engineering, product management, and R&D on machine performance, usability, and field challenges. (20%) Stakeholder Engagement & Operational Excellence: Collaborate with site leadership, product support representatives, and automation teams to tailor training to customer-specific needs and operations goals. Oversee the onboarding and development of new trainers and mentor junior instructors on field delivery, adult learning strategies, and Komatsu equipment nuances. Advocate for best practices in mining safety, data integrity, and performance-based decision-making. (10%) Mentoring: Assist and provide guidance to other developers as assigned, in the absence of the Training Manager. Mentor other instructors in development of training material, training lab, and field equipment. (10% Qualifications/Requirements
Education: Associate (A.S.) or bachelor's degree (B.S.) in mining engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering is preferred but not required. Direct relevant industry experience will be accepted in lieu of education. Preferred Skills: Interpersonal Skills:Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with students and other instructors.
