Sr. Demand Planner

The Opportunity:

This role will be the key to ensuring sufficient instrument supply for our new installations, managing delays and executing allocation strategies. It is a highly visible role focusing on a mission critical product portfolio: core lab instruments. Responsible for ensuring that product requirements are forecasted accurately in the demand plan. This encompasses planning activities; coordination of product introductions, replacements and sun setting; reporting activities; process improvement; and problem-solving as issues occur. This role also provides leadership and mentoring to other team members while concurrently developing solutions to department-specific issues, proposing process improvement initiatives, supporting business critical and strategic cross-functional teams.

  • Monitors supply status of critical instruments, communicating and mitigating any risks and delays to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develops reporting tools to better manage and monitor supply.
  • Develops process for managing supply and requests for new installations as part of a recurring, cohesive, cross-functional process for managing required resources.
  • Collaborating with multiple local and global resources to improve supply through better forecasting, project management and supply planning.
  • Maintains demand planning data and oversees data quality in SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO).
  • Develops and maintains local demand forecasts in SAP APO based on demand data and statistical forecasting models. Ensures a high level of accuracy and assists in developing specific Demand Planning (DP) goals and objectives.
  • In coordination with Marketing and Supply Chain, conducts demand planning forecast modeling and trending and presents findings to Management. Shares harmonized forecasts with Supply Chain global operations.
  • Oversees Demand Life Cycle Management data management process within affiliate and coordinates information requirements with Global Planning LC expert
  • Coordinates cross-functional research activities (i.e. Affiliate Supply Chain, Sales/Marketing, Finance, Global Demand Planner, etc.) to reconcile significant variances in forecast models versus actual demand.
  • Develops and maintains demand planning analytics tools and methodologies and reporting tools.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field; or 4 years experience in a related field
  • 5 years of experience in logistics, marketing, production, inventory control or purchasing functions with an international focus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly proficient in materials management and supply chain data analysis. Tools to support include SAP Demand Planning (APO DP), Production Planning (APO PP/Data Services, R/3 and/or Business Information Warehouse (BW)
  • Project Management Skills
  • Experienced in developing new process and improving existing processes cross-functionally
  • Experience with advanced data analytics and business intelligence tools, e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, along with self-motivated desire to continuously self-teach new tools

The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Indiana, preferably Northwest Indiana, is between $79,600.00 - $147,800.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
