Job Summary

The Sr. Director of Sales is a key member of the commercial leadership team, responsible for driving strategic growth and revenue performance across all chemical product lines and customer segments. This role leads a high-performing sales organization focused on delivering value to industrial, specialty, and commodity markets through innovative solutions, technical expertise, and strong customer relationships. The Senior Director will develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, optimize pricing and channel effectiveness, and ensure alignment with cross-functional partners in Marketing, R&D, and Operations. Success in this role requires a proven track record in chemical manufacturing sales leadership, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to lead through complexity in a dynamic market environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue, margin growth, and market share across industrial, specialty, and commodity chemical segments
  • Lead and mentor a national sales team, including regional managers, corporate account managers, RPL & OEM to achieve aggressive growth targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, OEMs, and end-users to strengthen strategic partnerships
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Operations to align sales efforts with innovation pipelines, product launches and supply chain capabilities
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform pricing strategies and commercial decisions
  • Oversee demand forecasting, sales budgeting, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational capacity
  • Drive the adoption of CRM tools and sales analytics to improve forecasting accuracy, pipeline visibility, and sales productivity
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, EH&S standards, and customer-specific requirements in all commercial activities
  • Lead negotiations, including multi-year contracts, rebates, and complex pricing structures
  • Represent the sales organization in executive-level discussions, cross-functional initiatives, and strategic planning forums
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, professional development, and results
  • Report regularly to executive leadership on sales performance, market dynamics, and strategic recommendations
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding client accounts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals and present solutions that meet client needs.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and company policies.
  • Utilize MS Office, Tableau and other sales software programs to create presentations, track market conditions and provide customer support and sales data.
  • Attend and participate in local and/or national trade shows, local association groups, and internal/external meetings to learn and promote the Solenis product line.
  • Champion the adoption and reinforcement of role-specific seller profiles (Territory Sales Manager, Commercial Account Manager, Growth Specialist), ensuring alignment to clearly defined personality traits and professional behaviors.
  • Coach regional managers and frontline leaders on how to evaluate, develop, and manage talent against these profiles through field observation, role playing, and data-driven feedback.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement and HR to embed these traits into hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance evaluation processes.
  • Ensure Salesforce and LMS usage reflects and supports ongoing development in these core growth-oriented competencies, including urgency, resilience, storytelling, and value articulation.

Key Requirements:

  • BS Degree in business or job-related discipline
  • Minimum (6) years sales experience
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of swimming pool and spa industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Travel in and around NA with approximately 30-50% overnight travel

The expected compensation range for this position is between $184,800.00 and $307,900.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
