The Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center James Cancer Hospital (OSUCCC-James) is actively recruiting faculty physicians with a clinical interest in both malignant and classical hematology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview Physicians within the Division of Hematology provide direct and indirect patient care services in inpatient and/or ambulatory settings in the James Cancer Hospital. They will conduct ambulatory clinics where they will perform physical examinations to assess medical needs, perform relevant hematology procedures, and order diagnostic testing and other ancillary services. The physician will prescribe and implement treatment plans, while educating patients and their families. Physicians may participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. A physician in hematology will serve as a preceptor and provide bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate and graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied health medical professionals in the specialty of hematology. Department/Division Overview The OSUCCC-James is one of only 56 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the nation, a designation that we have maintained through competitive renewal since 1976. The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute opened the third largest cancer hospital in the United States in 2014 to meet the needs of our community, and an outpatient care center in 2023 featuring clinic and infusion space for hematology physicians. The James provides a state of the art facility that fosters integration of research and clinical cancer care, including 308 inpatient beds and a 36 bed blood and marrow transplant (BMT) unit.
