Position description

The Department of Internal Medicine: Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a full- time faculty member in the Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in Chronic Lung Disease/Sleep Medicine. Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.

EXPECTATIONS

The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and an interest in chronic lung disease and sleep Medicine. Candidates will provide outpatient care for patients with chronic lung disease and sleep medicine and inpatient service including Pulmonary Consults, Critical Care Medicine, Medical ICU and Pulmonary Hypertension on-call service.

The incumbent will work directly with the medical leads of the Chronic Lung Disease and Sleep Medicine to help grow the clinical service line and associated research initiatives. The position will include clinical care of patients with chronic lung disease and/or sleep issues. The ideal candidate will have an interest and demonstrated success in clinical research and as a clinician educator.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

* M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O. or equivalent degree

* Teaching experience at the medical student or resident level

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)

* ABIM Board certification/eligibility in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine

* Medical licensure or eligible for licensure in the state of California

* ACGME accredited fellowship or equivalent experience have proven skills relevant to practice of Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep medicine.

Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)

* The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and interest in Chronic Lung Disease and the overlap with Sleep medicine as well as associated clinical research.
