The Salvation Army Midland Division Family Haven Shelter is looking for a Shelter Monitor that will be responsible to maintain control and assist homeless clients in the shelter. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position, with a starting pay of $15.50 per hour. The Salvation Army Family Haven is located at 10740 Page Ave, Saint Louis, Missouri. Job Objective Maintain shelter security. Perform related duties to maintains control and assist homeless clients in the shelter. Each monitor is responsible for his/her shift. Position is expected to comply with and meet The Salvation Army, Federal, State and Local policies and standards. This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent diploma with one year experience working in a Social Service agency or two years residential experience without a diploma. Higher education in psychology, social work, criminal justice or other related field is a plus. Must be a team player, a self-starter, and perform well with minimum supervision. Good communication skills are essential, as well as an ability to work with diverse and challenging personalities are essential. Computer skills are desirable. Physical and Working Conditions Must be capable of performing the above essential duties an office environment to include: using a computer, answering phones, etc. Most work will be indoors in a temperature-controlled environment. |
