Lead Respiratory Therapist

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

Primary Job Responsibilities for Lead Therapist:

• The Lead Therapist spends approximately 50 - 70% of authorized work hours providing direct patient care and has frequent contact with patients critical in nature.
• The Lead Therapist interacts with the Managers and the Medical Director of respiratory care for the insurance of current clinical practice, the training needs of the department, and quality improvement initiatives as directed.
• Serves as the first level of problem solving for patient care issues; is a resource to others; promotes patient assessments and therapy changes matched to outcomes; and assists with the clinical orientation and continuing education of the respiratory care staff.
• Also assists with program development and providing in-services to other departments as needed.
• The Lead Therapist maintains familiarity with latest advances in respiratory care in order to provide input regarding the purchase of new equipment and the provision of new services.
