Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The College's Business Operations Office supports financial and HR functions for most departments. This role falls within the Accounting Division, which manages post-award support for smaller departments and centers, and offers consultative expertise across the College.
Position Summary
The position will support the College of Arts & Sciences financial operations by processing, approving, and managing various fiscal and personnel transactions within university systems. This role ensures compliance with university, state, and federal policies while maintaining timely and accurate accounting practices. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate's degree in accounting; or Associate's degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

  • Experience in higher education or public sector finance.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems such as ConnectCarolina, PaymentWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with UNC Chapel Hill financial systems and policies.
  • Knowledge of ePAR, RASR, and HR/payroll processes.
