The University of Virginia is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 position to assist in environmental fluid mechanics research within the lab of Prof. Matthew Reidenbach (https://reidenbach.evsc.virginia.edu) within the Department of Environmental Sciences (https://evsc.as.virginia.edu). The employee in this position will be expected to perform the following tasks:
Minimum Requirements Education: Associate's degree Experience: At least 2 years of lab experience which may include student experience.Bachelor's degree in related science will be considered in lieu of experience. Preferred Requirements:
Physical Demands This position will require working in a laboratory and working outside at UVA's Coastal Research Center. Field work may include riding in a boat to field sites, moving equipment up to 50 lbs, and ability to work in muddy and/or wet environments.This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation. More Information The anticipated hiring range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr, commensurate with education and experience .
