DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accountant 1 in our Behavioral Health & Developmental Support Program, you will be responsible for analyzing financial transactions as well as preparing documented financial statements and reports to control and account for funds and to analyze and project financial data. Work involves preparing an accounts payable voucher, entering data into the automated accounting system, and completing regular check batches weekly. You will have the opportunity to assist with the preparation of the County budget data with regard to operating expenses for input into the budget section of the automated accounting system (Eden). Additional responsibilities include:
- Corresponding with the courthouse regarding purchase orders
- Utilizing ledgers and spreadsheets to monitor spending levels and compile reports
- Assisting with inventory
- Preparing vouchers and spreadsheets for provider reports from the state system
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting; or
- One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
- Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Cambria County. If no eligible candidates who live within Cambria County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
