Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for areas relating to financial reporting and government regulatory compliance. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. In addition, supervision of transactions and filings for all leading up to the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. Job Description *Position Title:* Senior Accountant
*Reports To:* Global Controller *Status:* Full-Time, Exempt *Location:* Remote - must reside in Denver metro to attend occasional on-site meetings *Salary:* $100,000 per year *Travel:* Up to 10% within the continental U.S. as needed, plus occasional travel to the Denver office for team meetings *Position Overview:* The Senior Accountant is responsible for areas relating to financial reporting and government regulatory compliance. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. In addition, supervision of transactions and filings for all leading up to the monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. *Role and Responsibilities:* * Responsible for accurately preparing and recording monthly journal entries specific to several financial areas, including revenue, inventory, employee expenses, fixed assets and intangibles. * Perform assigned balance sheet account reconciliations. * Assist with deliverables as they relate to the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. * Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. * Support budget and forecasting activities as requested by management. * Collaborate with the other departments to support overall department goals and objectives. * Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy. * Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit. * Assist with the timely preparation and submission of government regulatory filings. * Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department. * Perform assigned branch P&L reviews * Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements. * All other tasks as deemed by business needs and management. *Desired Skills:* * Ability to prioritize * Ability to recognize and meet deadlines * Strong attention to detail * Customer service skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills *Required Education and Experience:* * Bachelor's degree in Accounting * CPA highly preferred * 3 - 5 Years of related experience *Physical Environment:* Home office environment (Remote plus travel to local Denver branch for occasional team meetings. Equipment provided for home office.) *Physical Demands:* Must be able to sit for extended periods, lift up to 10 lbs. and navigate/use computer system. Flow of work and nature of duties involves normal coordination of mind and eyes much of the time. |
