Summary: The Business Analyst role bridges the gap between IT and business partners, with focus on data analysis, process assessment and improvement, application deployment support. The position engages business leaders and users to understand how changes to process, products, services, software, or hardware can improve efficiencies and add value. The position facilitates solutions that balance business and technical functionality specifically within DRC's corporate technology space.

Essential Position Responsibilities:



  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions.
  • Partners with stakeholders, end users, and technical resources to design, implement, and maintain internal processes or services. Analyzes and re-engineers business processes.
  • Elicits and documents requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Translates business needs into high-level technical specifications and design.
  • Supports process and technology change management with impacted end users.
  • Collects, aggregates, processes, and analyzes data sets to improve products, hardware, tools, software, services, or process.
  • Constructs descriptive analytics and data visualizations for stakeholders, executives, and clients.
  • Uses a variety of data analysis and organization tools to research and discover impactful insights to answer business questions and solve problems.
  • Creates and maintains knowledge articles, training materials, and end user communications.
  • Troubleshoot issues with software teams, QA, and IT delivery, and support engineering teams



Qualifications:



  • 3+ years of relevant business analysis or system support experience.
  • Knowledge of the Section 508 Rehabilitation Act / Accessibility Mandates regarding Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Experience with business requirements gathering, analysis, and translation to system requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency with productivity applications, including Microsoft Excel, and project management tools such as JIRA, and visualization tools such as Lucid or similar.
  • Familiar with IT infrastructure technology and terminology, including storage, server, & network.
  • Familiar with Disaster Recovery technology assessment & deployment.
  • Experience with scripting languages and business process automations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills. Comfort with translating technical discussion for non-technical staff.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing software requirements and test specifications.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively across multiple activities.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures.
  • Curiosity of further expanding knowledge and understanding of technology.
  • Excellent data entry, proofreading, and organizational skills.



Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):



  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Exposure to structured relational databases and complex SQL querying.
  • Relevant industry-standard technical certifications.
  • Familiar working within data warehouse deployments.
  • Excellent data entry, proofreading, and organizational skills.



Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8-hour periods of time.
  • Ability to look at a computer monitor, utilize a keyboard and/or mouse for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds as necessary.
