What you'll do

The Business Intelligence Center (BIC) supports AlixPartners' global business development and client engagement efforts. The team delivers intelligent research, manages data vendor relationships, identifies new business opportunities, supports active pursuits, analyzes market trends, tracks competitor activity, and contributes to internal knowledge development and innovation - a key competitive advantage of our senior model.

In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) practice, acting as a strategic partner to deliver high-impact insights that shape business development priorities, deepen client relationships, and drive firm growth. You will also collaborate cross-functionally with business and content marketing teams to shape thought leadership and drive industry-focused marketing campaigns.

We are seeking candidates with knowledge of the TMT sector and demonstrated experience in delivering market intelligence and financial analysis. Ideal candidates will bring expertise across Software, Cloud & Infrastructure, Technology Hardware, Telecommunications, Cloud & Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, and Media & Entertainment sectors.

Clear and concise communication skills are essential - this includes developing client-ready materials, translating complex market dynamics into clear, actionable strategies, and contributing well-formed perspectives to strategic discussions.

The Business Intelligence Manager is a full-time, permanent position based in New York, New York and reports to BIC Leadership, in close partnership with Global TMT Practice Leadership.



  • Conduct independent, creative research and market analysis to support business development priorities, ensuring alignment with practice and firm-wide commercial goals.
  • Develop industry points of view (POVs), by translating complex market dynamics, disruptive trends, and company-specific situations into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Work with senior practice leaders to storyboard, draft, and refine industry-leading playbooks, proposals, pitches, and opportunity assessments tailored to client needs.
  • Deliver proactive, data-driven insights on market trends, company performance, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities across the TMT landscape.
  • Produce client-ready materials and executive-level presentations that clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and implications.
  • Conduct financial, situational, and performance benchmarking analyses, identifying the most relevant and high-quality data sources.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with practice leaders and marketing to co-develop thought leadership for TMT, including campaign planning and content strategy.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects by ensuring effective communication, prioritization, and delegation-balancing longer-term strategic initiatives with quick-turnaround needs.
  • Promote the integration of AI across workflows, by leveraging generative AI tools, prompt engineering techniques, and emerging AI-driven research methods.
  • Play a key role in shaping how next-generation AI research and business intelligence tools / techniques are integrated into the firm's knowledge management and commercial strategies.
  • Lead or support primary research initiatives (e.g., surveys) and manage relationships with external vendors to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of insights.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members.

What you'll need



  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience, ideally in TMT market intelligence or financial/business analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree with a preference for business, finance, economics, or professional journalism with technical knowledge.
  • Sound judgment, common sense, and problem-solving ability.
  • Honed skills in strategic thinking and deriving market insights.
  • Experienced in high-impact market, company, and financial analysis, including public/private research, trend identification, and performance benchmarking using quantitative and qualitative research to support business development.
  • Committed to the success of the team with the ability to interact with people at all levels and work across boundaries to engage with colleagues to get things done.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and versatility in a dynamic, fast-paced environment-able to shift priorities quickly and balance multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with research tools such as Capital IQ, Pitchbook, Alphasense, CBInsights, and AI platforms (e.g., CoPilot, Perplexity) is preferred. Skilled in prompt engineering, intelligent agents, and AI-augmented research workflows is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in learning, adopting, and staying on top of emerging AI tools and trends, with a focus on practical application is preferred.
  • Proficient conducting data analysis in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and reporting results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

Employees will also receive a generous paid leave policy including vacation/personal time starting at 7.34 hours per pay period, sick time up to 80 hours annually, parental leave, and twelve holidays.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $130,000/annually - $15Market 0,000/annually with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
