The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Director of Global Supply Chain and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and executing a unified S&OP process across Apex Tool Group's Global Power Tools division, including the Cleco and Apex brands. This role ensures the alignment of commercial demand, supply chain capacity, and financial targets across multiple SBUs. The individual will lead a Lexington-based team and influence cross-functional global teams across Sales, Finance, Operations, Product Management, and Regional Leadership. This high-visibility role drives business planning, performance transparency, and decision support through structured, data-driven dialogue.
The Build (Responsibilities)
- Strategic Planning & Leadership: Design and lead a global, integrated S&OP cycle that aligns demand, supply, and financial planning across business units and regions.
- Forecasting & Performance Management: Own global billings and revenue forecasting. Lead executive S&OP reviews and long-range planning, ensuring visibility into trends, risks, and business drivers.
- Inventory, Cost & Service Optimization: Develop strategies to manage inventory and costs while ensuring high service levels and working capital targets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Improvement: Drive cross-functional projects to improve planning maturity, data alignment, and operational agility.
- Team & Capability Development: Lead a team of planning professionals, invest in tools and technologies, and partner with HR on talent development and succession planning.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years' experience in supply chain and S&OP, with leadership roles in global, multi-SBU environments.
- Strong financial and operational planning expertise (SG&A, DC costs).
- Proficient in SAP, Kinaxis, Hyperion, and enterprise planning systems.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in matrix and cross-cultural environments.
- Willingness to travel globally up to 15-20%.
