- Collaborate with business leaders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee daily accounting operations and manage month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income, and cash flows).
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to guide strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Partner with operations and technology teams to develop efficient operational workflows and processes and implement and maintain robust internal financial controls.
- Optimize cash flow management and overall financial strategy to drive organizational growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, executive leadership, and auditors on process flow, transactions and key initiatives.
- Conduct financial modeling for strategic partnership opportunities and support ad hoc finance projects as 2UniFi scales.
- Assess the financial implications of third-party contracts and ensure accurate accounting.
- Prepare strategic and financial collateral for board of directors and outside investors, ensuring accurate, clear, and strategic presentation of financial performance, forecasts, and key metrics.
- Manage relevant key third-party relationships with tax professionals, outside auditors, payment service providers, and software providers.
- Over time, build a finance team to support the finance and accounting needs of the business as it grows.
Key Requirements: This position requires the following educational and/or job experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years finance and accounting experience
- 5+ years of leadership experience
- Accounting Firm Experience: Prior experience working at an accounting firm, providing a strong foundation in accounting principles and financial best practices.
- Startup Finance Acumen: Experience with startup finance and accounting best practices, including scaling financial operations and supporting rapid growth.
- Broad Skill Set: Demonstrated ability to handle a wide range of finance and accounting responsibilities, including FP&A, strategic planning with hands-on accounting and transaction management.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, adapting to new challenges and wearing multiple hats as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification is a strong plus, indicating advanced expertise in accounting and compliance.
- Startup Finance Leadership: Proven experience serving as the finance lead at a seed-stage or higher technology startup and experience building a finance team from the ground up. Proven ability to provide strategic financial guidance and drive cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Tools & Modeling: Proficiency in financial software and tools with the ability to build and interpret complex financial models and reports.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strategic Mindset: A strategic thinker who can not only report on numbers but also provide forward-looking insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
