Equipment Specialist B-1 (Tinker AFB)

In this role you will provide full spectrum Aviation Equipment support for the B-1 Division at designated government facilities at Tinker AFB OK.

DCS is an employee-owned company focused on providing engineering, programmatic, and technical support services to the Department of Defense and other national security customers.

Essential Job Functions:

Serves as an aviation equipment specialist supporting aircraft research, development, production, lifecycle acquisition, and sustainment activities.

Provide advisory assistance to the Government in their functions of:

Providing expert advice and assistance on the timely logistics and Qualtiy Assurance guidance

Providing technically accurate and adequate troubleshooting and maintenance dispositions of Technical Order (TO) 00-25-107 technical assistance requests from USAF maintenance units.

Providing technical assistance to resolve system engineering and maintenance concerns for fielded equipment and Ground Support Equipment.

Performing inspections of activities executed by prime contract personnel providing production and depot repair of program aircraft.

Providing supervision and oversight of production and sustainment contracts.

Evaluating Air Force Technical Order 22 requests to change technical data to ensure technical accuracy and adequacy IAW TO 00-5-1 and 00-5-3.

Reviewing non-conformance reports.

Assessing aircraft availability and reliability metrics for opportunities to improve/correct the weapon system design, procedures, or training to improve aircraft availability.

Reviewing and assessing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) failure analysis reports for technical accuracy and adequacy.

Managing and implementing Government-approved reliability improvements.

Performing oversight of Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) projects to ensure SOWs clearly define objectives, cost estimates are reasonable and design changes meet requirements.

Developing Initial Spares Support List, RSP, and assigning Standard Reporting Designators.

Logistics Self-Assessment/Logistics Support Analysis Record review to assure provisioning requirements are adequately addressed.

Provide advisory and draft documentation assistance to the Government in the following areas:

Supporting the development and publication of interim safety supplements or emergency Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) when urgency does not allow coordination with the OEM.

Coordination and technical evaluation of all design changes to ensure maintenance, sustainment, Support Equipment, and technical order impacts are adequately addressed and that they meet system requirements and USAF expectations.

During the parts procurement process by supporting the development of procurement and fielding cost estimates and cost benefit analysis.

Identify potential issues and make recommendations for Government consideration relating to potential corrective actions for technical adequacy.

Function as the Program Office and Staff Level Support interface for specified projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A High School Diploma plus 20 years of directly related aviation equipment experience, 8 of which must be in the DoD, a BA/BS degree and 12 years of experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD or a MA/MS and 10 years of experience, of which 5 must be in the DoD.

A fully adjudicated Secret security clearance is required on the First Day of employment.

Advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized ability to be considered an aviation equipment expert.

Possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the aviation equipment discipline.

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the aviation equipment discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated aviation test engineering standards, procedures, and practices.

Possess the knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform logistics and have a demonstrated ability to work independently and apply the proper procedures and process related to aviation equipment.

Proven ability to problem solve and troubleshoot various situations to develop successful outcomes within established program/project guidelines.

Must be detail oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.

Clear ability to take ownership of issues and pursue potential resolutions through to completion.

Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
