Briggs & Stratton is seeking a motivated Safety Intern to join our team. Your responsibilities will be to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across all of our US sites. You will work under the direction of the Director Environmental Health and Safety. #LI-DNP

The intern will work in the following areas:

  • Assist in implementing environmental, health and safety policies and programs across all Briggs & Stratton locations
  • Participate in incident investigations, field audits, and other incident causation and prevention activities
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Assist with environmental and sustainability data collection, consolidation, and report preparation
  • Taking part in Kaizen and process improvement efforts
Starting Timeline: Immediate or to coincide with the start of the fall 2025 semester
Duration: Variable
Location: Must work onsite at our corporate office
Hourly Rate: Varies based on year in school

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function
  • Must have completed sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands on experience in function

Additional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, and analysis skills
  • Good working knowledge of computer software - including Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Good written and oral communication skills, poise and ability to interact with people in a professional manner
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
