The Role: Inside Solutions Engineer (Data Center)

This is a remote position based in the United States with preference for candidates that live in the Eastern or Central Time Zones. This position does not include travel.

Presidio has an opportunity for a motivated, smart, energetic individual for the Inside PreSales Support team, working on a team of 3-6 technical Inside Solution Engineers & Architects in a PreSales role. This role will be to provide technical PreSales support services to Presidio's PreSales organization.
The Inside Solution Engineer is a member of Presidio's National Inside PreSales Support Team supporting the Pre-Sales Engineering organization across Presidio primarily tasked with working closely with local teams of Solution Architects and providing technical assistance to customers, and Presidio Inside Sales organizations.
The Inside Solution Engineer's initial primary focus will be to participate in a training & enablement program which is focused on teaching you the skills required to be a PreSales Engineer at Presidio. The role assumes a basic entry-level experience with PCs, Office applications, web browsers, and fundamental technologies such as WiFi, Windows/Mac Operating Systems, basic networking, server or storage fundamentals, and the Internet. Experience in an IT organization, IT Help Desk, or similar technical support role is advantageous.

The initial curriculum will focus on providing you with knowledge of servers, storage, networks, and other IT technologies from our partners focusing on Dell/EMC and Datacenter technologies. You will gain an understanding of IT products and solutions through a combination of online and in-person training, shadowing, mentoring, and various activities and exercises related to the Inside PreSales role.
In addition to participating in the training curriculum, you will be responsible for assisting other members of the Inside PreSales team to create configurations, professional services documents, research technical questions, as well as other related activities.
In time, as you progress and gain competency and achieve certification levels, you will have the opportunity to grow your skills and career within Presidio, take on more responsibility & activities, and interface with clients, sales teams, and other groups within Presidio.

The ISE is expected to continually develop their technical and industry knowledge and stay up to date on the latest products and trends focused on industry technologies by attending webinars/seminars, training classes, and by closely working with the Solution Architects team on a daily basis. A successful ISE will demonstrate an ability to not only rapidly gain knowledge and understanding of new areas of technology and products but will be eager to understand the business of Presidio and our customers.
The Ideal candidate will be proactive, self-motivated with good work ethics and strong knowledge of technology. Must be committed to customer satisfaction and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails and verbal conversations.

The Inside Solution Engineer is an entry-level position within the team. This role will focus on enablement & training and learning the role of a PreSales Engineer with Presidio. You will also perform a variety of PreSales functions and activities, in conjunction with other members of the team. A successful Inside SE will have a strong desire to advance their skills and learn new technologies and apply them in a high-quality manner. The ISE role provides a potential career path to move into an Inside Solution Architect role and eventually into a customer-facing Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect role based on the candidate's ability to learn, grow, and their willingness to achieve goals and expand their skills.

Responsibilities include:

• Participation in technical training enablement program
• Create Solution diagrams, collect & review requirements data from customers, and perform other PreSales activities in support of engineering initiatives
• Research technical issues, answer customer questions about Presidio products, technologies, solutions, and offerings from our OEM partners.
• Provide configuration support for products and offerings from our key strategic vendors
• Follow standard processes and manage workflow related to the creation of pre-sales deliverables
• Collaborate with other team members to provide solutions for Presidio's customers
• Work in a focused and directed manner to improve overall productivity & efficiency across Presidio's PreSales team
• Participate in meetings with customers and sales teams to collect technical requirements from Presidio customers and develop an appropriate technical solution
• Perform customer service functions, including interacting with customers and answering questions
• Work alone and with others to create of technical configurations, statement of works, proposals, and other PreSales work outputs.

Required Skills and Professional Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
• Overall 1-3 years of experience in IT Datacenter field.

Preferred Skills and Professional Experience

• Dell EMC storage solutions, Dell Backup solutions, Dell Servers, Virtualization, and related technologies from other vendors.
• Participation or graduation from an industry or manufacturer training program for IT professionals
• Experience in an IT-related field such as manufacturer, VAR, IT Solution Provider
• Manufacturer or Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Cisco Certified Design, Dell Associate, or Pure Associate Architect
  
• Ability to create Bill of Material / technical configurations.
• Ability to use various configuration tools.
• usage of common IT tools such as Excel, Browsers, Email, Webex, etc
• Professional conduct, customer interaction skills,
• Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
