This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The expectation is for employees to be in-office 3 days or more per week, depending on business need. This in-office expectation is subject to change at business discretion.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The international marketing team is responsible for stewarding the global execution of the Columbia brand in dozens of markets around the world. The team operates out of several global offices, from Switzerland to Shanghai, connecting with and inspiring local outdoor consumers.Whether it's hiking, skiing, fishing, or any outdoor pursuit, this team is focused on getting people outside and helping the face whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

As the Directorof InternationalMarketing,you willbe responsible for supporting the execution of marketing plans in the global markets outside of the US. This includes all brand communications (traditional and digital media, social media, PR).You will act as a conduit of global information, assets, and toolkits, partnering with regional leaders to help distribute and in some cases localize paid media plans, retail environments, key accounts, store and ecommercemarketing, sponsorships, events, and the many tactics that apply specifically to the markets. You will work closely with the Product Marketing, NA Marketing, and Performance Marketing teams to scale global stories andBrandinitiatives in the regional markets to enable them to create region-specific marketing, as appropriate.

As the leader of the International Marketing team, you will be responsible for relaying regional market intelligence to the global organization to better enable brand-right global marketing assets, as well as ensuring that regional executions align with Global Brand standards. You and your direct reports, a team of regional marketing leaders, will provide marketing support for Columbia partners in each region, ensuring they have the tools they need to be successful and properly represent the Columbia brandat retail, online and in all consumer touchpoints.

HOWYOU'LLMAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Facilitate the resolution of complex or unusual local market challenges, applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.

  • Provide leadership, best practices, and support to local marketing managers who are accountable to their region. Develop and guide team members in the elevation of business channel program planning and execution.

  • Support, provide guidance for and track all marketing execution and strategy in the international markets (APAC, EMEA, LATAM) and International Distributors for the Columbia Brand.

  • Distribute Globalbrand frameworks and toolkits, as well as NA media plan examples, for traditional and digital media, social media, PR, as well as retail environments, key accounts,andomni-channel marketing. Review local Sponsorships, events, and other tactics as applicable.

  • Relay regional market intelligence to global organization and assist with planningof global campaigns.

  • Partner closely with Global and Regional Merchandising and the Product Marketing team to apply global stories and initiatives within global markets, collaborating with global resources to guide region-specific marketing, as appropriate.

  • Engage with cross-functional groups in the planning and execution of marketing programs including budget managementand field communication.

  • Regularly provide and collect industry intelligence, research, competitive information, analysis, and success measurement with Regional GMs and Global Marketing teams.

  • Analyze field feedback, sales data, distribution information, promotional activity, changing business conditions and competitive activity that may influence sales plan performanceto inform regional plans.

  • Develop and consolidate annual, regional marketing budgets and seasonal reportingin conjunction with Global Marketing leadership

YOUHAVE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or applicable certification or equivalent experience in Marketing or Business Administration.

  • 10+ years of Global Marketing experience.

  • 8+ years of people management experience including managing through managers.

  • 8+ years of broad experience in consumer marketing for a brand, including retail environment, key account, traditional media, digital media, event, and sponsorship activation required.

  • Applied, broad industry knowledge and commercial awareness to develop operating plans and drive performance of a significant share of the marketing function in region.

  • The ability to travel globally to regional offices.

  • Ability to speak Japanese, Spanish, French or Mandarin a plus
