Description



POSITION SUMMARY:




Responsible for directing and planning daily, weekly, and monthly materials activities including assisting in procurement, production scheduling, and materials systems maintenance. Also assists with execution and enhancement activities of the Manufacturers Order Processing (MOP) system in Great Plains Dynamics.




POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:





  • Executes daily and weekly sales plans in an efficient manner, through effectively scheduling materials and capacity.
  • Manages day to day flow of materials. Updates Bill of Materials (BOM's), routing and part numbers to assist in quoting custom orders.
  • Oversees inventory system including entering month and year end counts into system. Removes obsolete inventory from system. Verifies month end inventory totals. Analyzes inventory to assist accounting with costing.
  • Verifies inventory for special items before placing order into Production. Coordinates with Purchasing to ensure proper materials are in house for Production needs.
  • Provides input on manufacturing order processes to proactively correct inventory variances.
  • Maintains MOP training manuals. Updates manuals as needed.
  • Trains staff members on the operation and benefits of the MOP software.




PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT




There is little risk of injury. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours when production demand is at high levels.

Qualifications



KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:





  • Associates Degree in Business Management or Operations Management preferred. In lieu of a degree equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in manufacturing environment in similar role
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in ERP system
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in mathematics and Excel
  • Proficient in MS Office products
  • Prior experience in Great Plains
  • Advanced understanding of production functions and processes, materials.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Possess solution based thinking and out of the box problem solving abilities.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and effective prioritization skills.
