Position Announcement

The Associate Athletics Director for Business Services and Student-Athlete Development plays a crucial role in supporting the overall success of Utah Tech University's Athletics Department. This leadership role will oversee key business operations within the Department of Athletics, act as a sport administrator for assigned programs, and lead the holistic development of student-athletes across all sports.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Athletics and University Business Services, Human Resources, and Advancement.
  • Manage and monitor departmental budgets in collaboration with coaches and administrators.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, revenue tracking, and compliance with institutional and NCAA fiscal policies.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and oversight of expenditures, contracts, financial reporting, and donations.
  • Develop and implement business process improvements for efficiency and accountability.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive programming to support the holistic development of student-athletes (including leadership, career development, community engagement, and life skills).
  • Collaborate with campus partners to provide resources and workshops on mental health, financial literacy, and professional readiness.
  • Serve as the designated sport administrator for assigned sport programs, providing oversight, guidance, and support to coaches and staff.
  • Attend team practices, competitions, and travel as needed to support the programs.
  • Ensure programs operate within the scope of university and NCAA compliance regulations.
  • Serve on departmental and university committees as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of responsible and relevant experiences in administration, business operations, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational management skills.
  • Knowledge of budget software systems and university-level procurement processes.
  • Understanding of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for sports and a commitment to enhancing the student-athlete experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Full-time "at-will" Athletics Administration overtime-exempt staff position, as defined by University Policy 328. Annual salary of $70,000+ depending on qualifications and experience. Desired start date of August 2025.
