Excelitas is inviting applications for the position of Director, Corporate Development, responsible for supporting the execution of inorganic growth and acquisition activities, reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. This role involves all facets of deal execution, including due diligence, valuation, and transaction structuring, which are critical components of Excelitas' growth strategy.

Overview

The ideal candidate will possess strong capabilities in developing detailed financial models, interfacing with various functions, and coordinating and communicating effectively. Additionally, this individual will oversee the due diligence process, utilizing both internal and external resources, and establish a post-deal business integration plan.

It is essential for the candidate to work collaboratively with a diverse set of functional leaders and operate efficiently in a high-visibility role. The successful candidate work directly with the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development will closely liaise with experienced operating leaders within the business, including the Executive Leadership Team, Segment Leadership teams, Chief Technology Officer, and Functional Leadership Teams adhering to a well-defined and efficient M&A process. This position is open to candidates based in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, with the willingness to travel globally for meetings and visits to Excelitas offices. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities



  • Partner and support the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development responsible for leading acquisitions and divestitures
  • Develop comprehensive financial models for potential acquisition candidates, incorporating business and market conditions based on input from sponsoring Divisions;
  • Interface with various Business Leadership and Corporate group functions management teams to address key deal and valuation issues reflected in the business case/model;
  • Assist in project management, coordination, and marshalling of the financial & functional due diligence process on the acquisition target;
  • Collaborate closely with members of the operating leadership team, CTOs, and Corporate Development to identify and assess potential acquisition targets;
  • Develop, document, train, and institutionalize best practices within the Corporate Development function;
  • Support the initial phase of the acquisition process including target screening, research, and documentation, along with management and administration of the Corporate Development team's acquisition CRM;
  • Assist in constructing deal terms and agreements, working with both internal and external parties;
  • Participate in post-acquisition integration efforts to maximize synergies, track progress, and achieve strategic objectives.



Requirements



  • Approximately 5 years' experience in Investment Banking, Consulting, Accounting, Financial Planning, Strategic Planning, Corporate Development;
  • Exceptional financial modeling and valuation skills with solid attention to detail;
  • Strong execution experience with acquisitions and due diligence processes;
  • Private equity experience;
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management including senior executives;
  • Flexibility with schedule to meet project timing requirements;
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently/remotely;
  • Experience with acquisitions in the technology industry is valued;
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Engineering, or related field;
  • MBA and/or CPA/CFA Certification is a plus.
