THE ROLE

As the Sr. Manager, Product Owner for the Investment Platform, your primary focus is on driving the strategic vision and direction for a set of capabilities that deliver exceptional value to the business and its customers. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the roadmap for the Investment Platform, translating business needs into actionable priorities, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. By fostering strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, you will act as a trusted partner, bridging communication between business leaders, technology teams, and other departments to ensure seamless execution and delivery.

In this role, you will champion the product vision, inspiring and guiding Agile teams to innovate, iterate, and deliver solutions that maximize the platform's potential. Your ability to cultivate stakeholder engagement and navigate competing priorities will be critical in driving the success of the Investment Platform. Through strategic leadership, you will ensure the platform evolves to meet emerging business needs and market opportunities, delivering impactful experiences that align with the company's long-term objectives.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Contribute to the strategic technology vision for the Investment Platform by engaging with investment and technology leaders to understand organizational goals, articulate solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence key decisions that align with long-term objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, and research analysts to develop solutions that empower them to deliver superior investment and client outcomes. Ensure the platform supports their needs and enhances their ability to achieve investment objectives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration across cross-functional teams. Act as a trusted partner and primary communicator, bridging communication between business leaders, technology teams, and other departments.
  • Lead the product vision and roadmap development for a set of Investment Platform capabilities, defining product requirements and guiding the delivery team through key milestones to deliver impactful solutions.
  • Champion the delivery of business value by embedding strong "product lifecycle management" and "Software Development Lifecycle" processes and methodologies. Develop clear acceptance criteria to drive incremental quality improvements and ensure alignment with the product vision.
  • Enable Agile delivery to achieve strategic business outcomes by actively managing external dependencies, removing impediments, and ensuring the team remains focused on achieving Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and planning exercises (Program Increment Planning, Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews, Backlog Refinement, Retrospectives, and program vision/roadmap development) to maintain momentum and alignment with the product strategy.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitors to identify opportunities for innovation and growth, ensuring the Investment Platform evolves to meet emerging business needs and market demands.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing by participating in the internal Product Owner Community of Practice, exchanging ideas, skills, and best practices with colleagues across the organization.
  • Inspire and guide Agile scrum teams to deliver exceptional experiences and solutions that maximize the value of the Investment Platform and align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required, contributing to the success of the Investment Platform and the broader organization.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; CFA designation or prior investment experience preferred
  • 8-12 years of financial services/investment management industry experience, with a proven track record of operating as a Product Owner accountable for delivering over a large-scale strategic program implementation related to front and middle-office systems in an Agile environment.
  • Technical skills preferred: Git, GraphQL, JIRA, Python, SQL, Tableau, and familiarity with APIs and data integration tools
  • Deep understanding of portfolio management, research, and investment processes.
  • Experience working with Agile tools and methodologies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user story creation.
  • Excellent leadership experience: leading matrixed teams to deliver program outcomes. Must be comfortable in an Agile scrum environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with writing effective user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment with business goals and product vision.
  • High level of attention to detail; proactive and diligent in responding to business and client needs.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to drive results and overcome challenges.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, including other Product Owners, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups, to align strategies and deliver cohesive solutions.
  • Knowledge of investment platforms and front/middle-office systems, with experience in delivering solutions that enhance portfolio management, research analysis, and client outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and competing priorities effectively.
