Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing employees to ensure that production goals are met efficiently and effectively. Your leadership will empower your team to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity, directly contributing to the company's success and overall objectives

**This is a second shift position - Monday - Friday 3pm-11pm**

Primary Duties

Supervise and coordinate activities of team members engaged in various manufacturing processes, including shearing, punching, forging, tempering, heating, peening, assembling, and painting of automotive leaf springs

Develop and maintain efficient scheduling of personnel to meet production demands as outlined by production management

Provide comprehensive training to new team members on job responsibilities and safety protocols

Ensure all employees are adequately trained in the safe operation of manufacturing equipment to mitigate risks and ensure workplace safety

Conduct regular inspections of work progress and completed products to maintain quality assurance standards

Maintain precise records of employee attendance, performance issues, and overall workforce data; ensure records are updated in a timely manner

Assist employees with minor maintenance and troubleshoot operational issues to optimize equipment performance

Participate in company and departmental meetings to contribute to strategic planning and team collaboration

Analyze production schedules and communicate work requirements to assure job completion within designated timelines

Interpret and communicate company policies effectively to all team members, ensuring adherence to safety and OSHA regulations

Document and complete reports for work-related incidents, maintaining a focus on health and safety protocols

Employ analytical skills to identify and resolve workforce issues, enhancing team morale and productivity

Recommend personnel actions including promotions or disciplinary measures in accordance with company policies and procedures

Track time and production metrics to inform management of actual performance against targets

Complete all assigned daily paperwork with accuracy and attention to detail

Conduct performance evaluations annually to support employee development and career progression

Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the manufacturing area to foster a safe and productive work environment

Occasionally perform security functions to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals, ensuring clarity and compliance across the team.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and conducting correspondence, facilitating effective communication within the organization.
  • Possessing strong verbal communication skills to effectively present information before diverse audiences, including team members and management.
  • Capable of performing mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with various units of measure relevant to production needs.
  • Aptitude for computing rates, ratios, and percentages, in addition to interpreting and creating graphs to support production analysis.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills to navigate a variety of practical situations and challenges that arise within the workplace, adapting as necessary.
  • Ability to accurately interpret diverse instructions across multiple formats, ensuring clarity and understanding within the team.

Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED) is required; additional relevant certifications or training may enhance development.
  • A minimum of one to three months of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment is necessary to ensure operational knowledge and skills are in place.
