Department's Website:

• Bachelor's degree from a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program

• Current or eligible dental hygiene license in the state of Arkansas, including certification in local anesthesia

• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a practicing dental hygienist

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems

• Willingness to pursue a master's degree if not already obtained

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in dental hygiene, education, public health, or a related field with five (5) or more years of recent clinical experience as a dental hygienist.

• Recent didactic and/or clinical teaching experience

• Active involvement in professional organizations at the local, state, or national level

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver instruction in area(s) of expertise

• Contribute to program and curriculum assessment and planning activities

• Supervise students in clinical and laboratory settings

• Participate in the UAMS interprofessional education curriculum

• Provide academic advising of students

• Engage in admissions and recruiting opportunities

• Engage in scholarly and service activities consistent with university, college, and expectations for core faculty

• Other duties as assigned
