Communications Outreach and Engagement Coordinator Under the general supervision of the Director of Communications, the Communications Outreach and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating DWIHN outreach events as well as working with our community partners to maximize engagement with our programs and services. This position works to boost content on social media and assists with the advertising opportunities throughout the community that will maximize exposure for the organization. A general list of duties, qualifications, and experience includes, but is not limited to: PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with DWIHN staff on outreach and engagement opportunities
- Disseminates news and information about DWIHN's programs, services, and supports to providers,
- faith-based organizations, schools, and various community partners to promote a better
- understanding of mental illness, emotional disturbance, and developmental disabilities throughout the community
- Helps to manage organizational outreach calendar
- Helps to build social media awareness
- Creates content for all DWIHN social media platforms (captions, graphics, posts, reels, stories, and videos).
- Works with social media influencers and content creators to build paid campaigns
- Works on social media strategy and ad placement
- Responsible for using various resources and tools, such as social media monitoring, scheduling, and tracking programs for both internal and external communications to publish, follow, analyze, and execute communications
- Assists with editorial content and research for news articles
- Circulates information to the public regarding community awareness campaigns, health fairs, events, and conferences
- Assists with coordinating content for the DWIHN Newsletters
- Assists in creating press releases, memorandums, and marketing materials
- Maintains and posts "Monthly/Yearly Community Outreach Calendar" for DWIHN staff on intranet.
- Create informational documents, pamphlets, and brochures to be distributed throughout DWIHN, our providers, and the community
- Maintains a library of media, providers, and community resources
- Facilitates partnerships and community engagement
- Attends staff events, meetings, and off-site functions
- Engages in community outreach activities, presentations, and programs
- Provides support to Marketing and Communications as described by the Department Director
- Performs other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA'S)
- Knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn Campaign Manager, TikTok, and YouTube
- Knowledge of influencer marketing, including micro and macro influencers
- Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, keyword research, Google Analytics, and internet ranking for web content
- Knowledge of photography, camera, and smartphone utilization
- Knowledge of social/digital agency, content production (copywriting, photography, graphic design, videography)
- Knowledge of communications principles and practices
- Assessment skills

- Public Speaking and Presentation skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Canva, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with a major in journalism, communications, public relations, and/or marketing.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years' experience in public relations with direct contact with media outlets and actively engaged in community outreach.
- Two (2) years of full-time paid professional experience planning, building, and executing social media campaigns.
- Qualified candidates will be asked to submit writing samples.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Publisher, Social Media platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
REQUIRED LICENSE(S):
- A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is performed in an office setting. However, travel may be necessary to attend meetings, health fairs, press conferences, and other events outside of the office setting.
