Position Type: Full Time, 36 hours/week, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 6:00 pm - 6:00 am, three 12-hour shifts, variable days

Your role with us

As the Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy, you'll serve as a clinical leader and operational partner, supporting both patient care and your team's professional growth. In this dynamic role, you'll oversee daily staffing and department functions while championing a culture of accountability, inclusion, and excellence. With your background in critical care, strong communication skills, and focus on continuous improvement, you'll ensure that high standards of care and customer service are consistently met. Your leadership will play a key role in aligning day-to-day operations with the organization's strategic goals, fostering engagement, and advancing the respiratory therapy practice.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate daily staffing assignments, ensuring appropriate skill mix and continuity of care.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training for new and existing staff.
  • Provide mentorship and support for team development, performance feedback, and recognition.
  • Participate in department projects, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and address issues related to supply, staffing, and equipment needs.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, customer service, and ethical decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and leadership; ensure timely follow-up on patient safety alerts (PSAs), concerns, and process updates.
  • Contribute to scheduling, timecard review, productivity, and overtime management.
  • Support staff evaluations, corrective actions, and staff engagement efforts.

Required qualifications

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree.
  • Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Current Respiratory Therapist License through Oregon Health Authority.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Minimum of one year supervisory and/or lead experience in the field of respiratory care in a hospital setting.
  • One year of critical care experience.
